It was a pleasure to welcome delegates to our second annual Gibraltar-focussed webinar, “Fit for the Future?”, which we held on 4 March.  We would like to thank our Chair and Guest Speaker Ian Clark.  Ian kicked off our webinar with a thought-provoking discussion on the current state of the UK motor market, including:

• impacts of COVID;
• claims costs trends; and
• emerging motor market headwinds.

Next Kendra Felisky presented our annual analysis of the latest SFCRs of Gibraltar-based insurers.  This year she drew out some interesting differences between Gibraltar, UK and Maltese firms.

Finally Alex Marcuson presented “Part VII Transfers: Insight and Opportunities”.  In light of the recent UK legal changes affecting Part VII transfers to Gibraltar, this gave delegates an overview of the Part VII transfer process, highlighting recent developments and the opportunities that these changes gave the Gibraltar insurance market.
