Core Actuarial

We are experts in all aspects of non-life reserving, including providing independent review and challenge of reserves, Lloyd’s Statements of Actuarial Opinion (“SAO”) and M&A advice.  We can help you quantify reserve uncertainty for Solvency II purposes and build and review processes and models, including for valuation of liabilities under Solvency II.

Internal Model Validation

Having supported multiple insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates since the infancy of Solvency II, we are experts in internal model validation and are well-placed to validate all or part of your internal model.

Capital Modelling

We can help you design, build, parameterise and implement your internal capital model for Solvency II or your economic capital model for other purposes (eg to support underwriting and reinsurance decisions).  We can also deliver effective training to your board on the operation and use of the model.

Outsourced Actuarial Function

Part VII Transfers

We can act as the independent expert on your Part VII project, or provide actuarial support to help your in-house team to prepare for one.

By the end of 2023, we have been approved by the PRA to act as independent expert for over 10 Part VII Transfers.  As a result, we have built extensive experience in Part VII Transfers across our team and established a clear approach which is well-accepted by the regulators.

We can act as an Expert Witness or Expert Advisor in legal proceedings.  As recognised actuarial experts in general insurance well-versed in litigation and arbitration processes, we have the ideal credentials to act as an expert in contentious legal proceedings.
